In my classes, you will learn how to place yourself into a state of ultimate relaxation, enabling your body to get on with the job of labour uninhibited by stress, fear or anxiety. This ultra-calm state is achieved using visualisations, music, self-hypnosis and relaxation techniques. Mentally and physically, you will learn to work through your labour in a relaxed state to minimise discomfort.
At the core of the Hypnobirthing philosophy is that labour and birth are natural, physiological events, and that your birthing day can be one of the most amazing and rewarding days of your life.
The ‘hypno’ part of ‘hypnobirthing’ refers to the hypnotherapy, or deep relaxation techniques that we use to release fears and condition ourselves to release endorphins throughout labour as a means of non-medical pain relief. We focus on having a calm, easy birthing experience, though we know that birth does not always go to plan.
